Tuesday December 8, 2020 6P-9P at the Gallupville Fire Station.


​The Gallupville Volunteer Fire Department provides Fire Protection and BLS Emergency Medical First Response to the residents in the Town of Wright.
We are located in the central eastern corner of Schoharie County. We border Albany and Schenectady counties. Our membership is comprised of 20 volunteer men and woman that are dedicated to Fire and EMS and have a passion for helping the town residents. Our station is located at 109 School Street in the hamlet of Gallupville. We moved into our new station in January of 2006.


LEGAL NOTICE
ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE WRIGHT FIRE DISTRICT
 
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Wright Fire District will take place on Tuesday December 8, 2020 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Gallupville Fire Department located at 109 School Street, Schoharie, New York 12157 for the purposes of:

1) electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing
January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2025;
2) voting on Proposition Number 1 that reads as follows:
Shall the bond resolution adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Wright Fire District, in the Town of Wright, Schoharie County, New York on October 26, 2020 authorizing the acquisition of one fire engine including incidental equipment and expenses in connection therewith at an estimated maximum cost of $340,000.00; authorizing withdrawal of a sum not to exceed $40,000 from the District’s Truck Capital Reserve Fund; authorizing the issuance of serial bonds of said Fire District at the prevailing rate of interest at the time of closing in an amount not to exceed $300,000.00 to pay a portion of the costs thereof, such amount to be offset by any federal, state, county, and/or local funds received; pledging the faith and credit of said Fire District for the payment of the principal of and interest on said bonds; determining the probable usefulness thereof is twenty (20) years; determining that the maximum maturity of serial bonds will be fifteen (15) years; authorizing an annual levy on the taxable properties in the Fire District to pay the principal and interest on such bonds; delegating the power to authorize and sell bond anticipation notes and to fix the details of and to sell serial bonds or statutory installment bonds; containing an estoppel clause and providing for the publication of an estoppel notice, be approved?
 
Candidates for the office of Fire District Commissioner shall file with the Secretary of the Wright Fire District, at the address below no later than 5:00 PM on November 18, 2020 a written statement containing their name, the specific office they are seeking, and a duly executed petition(s) subscribed by at least twenty-five qualified voters of the Fire District.
 
Only those persons who are residents of the Wright Fire District on or before November 9, 2020 and who are registered to vote with the Schoharie County Board of Elections on or before November 16, 2020 shall be eligible to vote in this Annual Election.
